Mobile sauna rentals

How mobile sauna rental works

You book a window, usually a day, a weekend, or a week. The operator tows the sauna to your address, levels it, and shows you how to run the stove or heater. Most wood-fired units are ready to use within about an hour of the first fire. When the window ends, the operator collects the sauna.

Most operators serve a radius around their base. Delivery inside that radius is often included, and mileage beyond it is charged per mile. A flat, reachable spot is the main site requirement: a driveway, a level patch of yard, or a parking area with room to back a trailer in.

Wood-fired or electric

Wood-fired saunas are the majority of mobile rentals. They need no power hookup, run hotter with more steam, and suit outdoor sites and winter use. You feed the stove, and the operator usually supplies the first load of wood.

Electric units heat with less attention and no smoke, but they need a suitable outlet or a generator, and many residential circuits cannot run a sauna heater. Ask the operator what the unit draws before you assume your garage outlet will do.

What a booking includes

A typical private booking covers delivery, setup, a walkthrough, the first supply of wood, and pickup. Towels, water buckets and ladles, and a thermometer are common but not universal. Cold plunge tubs are almost always a separate add-on with their own daily rate.

Event bookings often add an attendant who manages the stove and the guest flow, longer setup time, and insurance paperwork for the venue. Those items change the quote more than the sauna itself does.

What mobile sauna rental costs

Prices depend on rental length, delivery distance, sauna size, and add-ons. Per-night rates fall as the booking gets longer, so a full week costs far less per day than a single day. The table below summarizes the price ranges that listed providers publish, as of September 2026. Confirm the current price with the provider before you book.

What people rent them for

Backyard weekends are the most common booking: a sauna in the driveway for a few nights, shared with family or neighbors. Ski trips, lake cabins, and hunting camps follow the same pattern with a longer window.

Events are the other half of the market. Corporate wellness days, retreat weekends, wedding weekends, race recovery tents, and brand activations book a sauna with an attendant and often pair it with cold plunges for contrast rounds.

What to ask a provider

A short list of questions settles most quotes in one exchange. Ask them before you compare prices, because the answers decide what the price includes.

Ask before you compare prices

• What is the delivery radius, and what is the per-mile charge beyond it?
• Is the first load of wood included, and how much do extra bundles cost?
• How much level space does the trailer need, and can it be placed on grass?
• Are towels, buckets, and a thermometer supplied?
• Is a cold plunge available, and what does it cost per day?
• What is the deposit, and what is the cancellation and weather policy?
• For events: is an attendant included, and can you provide a certificate of insurance?

How to choose between providers

Start with the providers who list your city or a service area that includes it. Then compare on the things that matter for your booking: capacity if you have a group, wood-fired versus electric for your site, and whether the price includes delivery to your address.

A provider with a booking link and a visible price range is usually faster to book than one who quotes by phone, but many excellent small operators quote by phone only. The listing pages below show which is which.
