Local Sauna Rentals privacy policy
Privacy policy
How Local Sauna Rentals handles directory, form, outreach, and security data.
What we collect
Local Sauna Rentals publishes public sauna rental, sauna studio, and recovery-service business information and stores information submitted through listing, claim, inquiry, review, and contact forms. That can include business names, websites, booking links, public contact details, service areas, prices, messages, IP address, referrer, and user agent for security and abuse prevention.
Cookies and tracking
We use only functional cookies that are strictly necessary to run the site, such as sign-in and security/anti-abuse cookies. We do not use advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, or cross-site tracking cookies, so under the EU ePrivacy Directive and the Dutch Telecommunicatiewet no tracking consent banner is required. If we add analytics or advertising tools later, we will request prior consent from visitors in the EU, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, and other regulated markets before any non-essential cookies are set.
Why we use data
We use data to operate the directory, review provider submissions, respond to requests, prevent spam or abuse, maintain listing quality, measure aggregate site demand, and contact sauna rental, studio, and recovery providers about factual listing updates or claim opportunities.
Legal basis (GDPR / AVG)
For visitors and businesses in the European Union, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom, we rely on the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR, known in the Netherlands as the Algemene Verordening Gegevensbescherming or AVG). Our legal bases are: legitimate interests in running an accurate local sauna and recovery directory and contacting businesses about their public listings (Article 6(1)(f)); performance of a request or step you ask us to take, such as a claim, inquiry, listing submission, or rental request (Article 6(1)(b)); consent where we ask for it, for example before any future non-essential analytics (Article 6(1)(a)); and compliance with legal obligations (Article 6(1)(c)). Where we rely on legitimate interests, you can object based on your particular situation.
Data controller and retention
Local Sauna Rentals is the data controller for the personal data described here and can be reached at [email protected]. We keep listing, submission, outreach, and security records only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law, and we remove or anonymise data that is no longer needed. Some data is processed by service providers (hosting, email, payment) acting on our instructions; where data is transferred outside the EEA we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
Provider outreach
Provider outreach is limited to directory-related messages such as listing notices, corrections, claim/review links, or profile improvement requests. Outreach messages include a way to opt out, and blocked or unsubscribed contacts should not receive further campaign email.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct, remove, restrict, or port personal data associated with you or your business listing, and you can object to processing based on legitimate interests or withdraw consent at any time. You can also request that a provider contact be marked do-not-contact. We will respond within the time limits set by the GDPR/AVG.
Supervisory authority
If you are in the Netherlands or the wider EU and believe we have not handled your personal data correctly, you can lodge a complaint with your data protection authority. In the Netherlands this is the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens (autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl). We would appreciate the chance to address your concern first.
Contact
For privacy requests, email [email protected] with enough detail to identify the listing, submission, or outreach record involved.
